Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data IMAT Doutor keeps, what it is used for, who it is shared with and how you can ask for it to be corrected or deleted. The last part lists the cookies and everything the site stores on your device.

Who we are

IMAT Doutor is a study platform for the IMAT, based in Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil. Who operates it is stated in the Terms of use. For anything on this page, write to [email protected]

What we keep

Your account: your email address and your password. The password is stored encrypted by the sign-in service; nobody on the team can read it.

Your profile, when you fill it in: nickname, country, role (student, medical student or teacher), age range, a short description and a photo.

Your study: the answers you give, the mock exams you take (with score and time), the questions you bookmark, the notebooks you build, and the comments and forum posts you publish.

What you write to us: the messages you send through support, and the answers to any questionnaire you choose to fill in.

Payment: which plan you have, its status and until when it is valid, and the code that links your account to your record at Dodo Payments. We do not store and never see your card number: you pay on Dodo Payments' page, and Dodo Payments is the seller that issues the charge.

Visits: the page viewed, the site the visit came from, the type of device, the browser language and the time zone, tied to a random identifier stored in your browser. We do not keep IP addresses, and browsers that ask not to be tracked are not recorded. These records are deleted after 13 months.

Content protection: we record which questions your account opens and when, and aggregate temporary reading-limit refusals. A random account code appears on question screens for personal-use identification. It does not contain your name or email address; only administrators can look it up.

If you sign in with Google

When you choose to continue with Google, we receive from Google your email address, your name and your profile picture. We do not receive your Google password, and we get no access to anything else in your Google account, such as emails, contacts, files or calendar.

We use that data only to create your IMAT Doutor account and to identify you inside the site. It is not used for advertising and is not passed on to anyone, other than being stored by the services listed under "Who we share data with".

It is kept for as long as your account exists and is deleted with it. You can withdraw the permission at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. That does not delete your IMAT Doutor account; to delete it, write to [email protected]

What we use it for

To make the site work for you: signing in, keeping your history, and calculating your statistics and your progress.

To unlock the access of the plan you have, and to answer what you ask through support.

To show anonymous comparisons between students, such as the ranking and averages. They never show a name, nickname, email address or anything that identifies someone.

To understand how the site is used and where visitors come from, so we can improve it.

What other students see

Your profile (nickname, role, country, description and photo) is visible to other users, including next to the comments you post. Your age range is not shown.

Forum posts are public: anyone, including people who are not logged in and search engines such as Google, can read them, with your nickname, role and photo next to them. You can edit or delete your own replies at any time.

Your email address, your answers and your scores are not shown to other students. In the ranking and in comparisons only numbers appear, with no identification.

Who we share data with

We do not sell data. We use the services below for the site to exist, and each one receives only what its part requires:

Supabase: database and sign-in. The database is hosted in São Paulo, Brazil.

Cloudflare: hosting of the pages.

Dodo Payments: charging and receipts.

Google: sign-in with a Google account, when you choose to use it; and ad measurement, only if you allow it in the cookie settings.

Some of these services may process data in countries other than yours.

How long we keep it

Account, profile and study data: for as long as your account exists.

Visit records: 13 months.

Content-protection records are deleted in daily cleanup: question openings after 7 days and reading-limit events after 30 days. The random account code is kept until the account is deleted.

When you ask us to close your account, your data is deleted within 30 days, including your plan and its status. Charges and invoices are records of Dodo Payments, which keeps them under its own rules.

Your rights

You can ask at any time for a copy of the data we hold about you, for anything wrong to be corrected (you can edit your profile yourself on the site), for your account to be closed and your data deleted, and for us to stop using your visit data.

Write to [email protected] from the email address of your account. We reply within 15 days.

Age

The rules in the Terms of use apply: you must be 18 to buy a plan, and at 16 or 17 a free account requires the permission of a parent or guardian. The site is not intended for anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

When this text changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Important changes are also announced in a notice inside the site.
