Q16 - Cellular structures

Which of the following structures in a plant cell are surrounded by a double membrane? A) Plastid, Mitochondria, Nucleus B) Nucleus, Plastid, Golgi Apparatus C) Golgi Apparatus, Ribosome, Mitochondria D) Plastid, Endoplasmic Reticulum, Vacuole E) Mitochondria, Vacuole, Golgi Apparatus
Pinned

The correct answer is A) Plastid, Mitochondria, Nucleus.

The double-membrane structures are the nucleus, mitochondria and plastids (chloroplasts are plastids). Mitochondria and plastids have two membranes because they started out as engulfed bacteria.

Anything with the Golgi, ER or vacuole in it is wrong, since those have a single membrane, and ribosomes have no membrane at all.
