The correct answer is D) The set of all possible ordered pairs having as the first component an element of A and as the second component an element of B.
The Cartesian product A × B is the set of all ordered pairs (a, b) with a from A and b from B.
For A = {1, 2} and B = {x, y}: {(1, x), (1, y), (2, x), (2, y)}. Order matters, and if A has m elements and B has n, there are m × n pairs.
The other options describe intersection, difference and union, or confuse "product" with multiplying numbers.
